In social studies this week, we finished reading the book on the Southeast. We answered lots of comprehension questions and enjoyed a game of Around the World to review. We will have a quiz next Friday.

In grammar, we talked about various kinds of adverbs, ones of manner, degree, time, place and more! We wrote sentences using them and completed our task cards and weekly assessment as well.
In Charlotte’s Web, we read three chapters this week, completed three summaries, and answered a set of comprehension questions. The main focus was on writing rough and final drafts of our diary entries. We will have the first 12 brief entries finished next week.

We also spent lots of time reviewing spelling and vocabulary words. We practiced on our marker boards, played games of Sparkle, and enjoyed a custom game of Charlotte’s Web-themed bingo! Dum-dums were the prize and were enjoyed by all.

Today, 4th grade hosted nine prospective students. Hunter, Stratton and Lucy did a great job with their guests in 4E, and Helen and Lorenzo also made their guests feel welcome in 4M. Way to go, team!

In Morning Meeting this week, students shared little-known facts about themselves and about tech rules at home. They also played games of Reverse Charades and Mind Reader and more.

Today we were fortunate to attend the 1st Grade Pet Show. Bearded dragons, goldfish and dogs galore entertained the student body. We have so many 4th graders with 1st grade siblings. What a great morning!
